Cobra Ladies Driver – Women’s Golf Driver Review For 2021

I recently upgraded my driver to a Cobra Ladies Driver and I couldn’t be more excited! To be specific, I am now playing with the Women’s King Radspeed Driver. Since starting to learn the game of golf about 4 years ago, I haven’t made any new upgrades to my golf clubs until now. Hitting my driver is one of my favorite and best parts of my golf game so deciding to upgrade my ladies driver first was the best option for me.

I weighed the pros and cons of different types of drivers and landed on this Cobra Driver. It doesn’t hurt that my boyfriend is a PGA Professional and was able to do a proper club fitting with me with the Trackman. I’ve never been able to do this before and it was 100% worth it! In this post, I’m sharing my pros and cons of the Cobra Ladies Driver after hitting it at the range and on the course for the first time.

Side note: I broke 90 for the first time last week using this Cobra ladies driver for the first time (yep, shot an 89 and I was soo excited!)

Cobra Ladies Driver Review - Golf With Luck

When I first starting learning to play golf about 4 years ago, I bought a cheap-ish set of Adams golf clubs similar to these ones. Adams golf isn’t even around anymore but it was a set that included everything I needed – a bag, a driver, irons, wedges, a putter, and some hybrids.

I didn’t even know if I would like playing golf so I didn’t want to spend too much money on clubs so I went with a women’s beginner golf set. Fast forward a few years, I finally got a new women’s Cobra driver!

Here is the exact driver I’m using

How did I choose this Cobra Ladies Driver?

I really didn’t know where to start when picking a new driver. Luckily, I had the help of my boyfriend Tommy who is a PGA golf professional. I realized that if you’re going to buy a new driver or new beginner clubs, you need to hit with them to get the feel.

Make sure you go to a golf store or your local club fitter to at least swing the club you want to buy. This is one of the most important things when buying new golf clubs.

Ladies Cobra Driver Review Driving Range Shot

We went out to the driving range and had a few different ladies drivers to try out. The Trackman was setup to help see where each shot went. If you don’t have access to somewhere with a Trackman, there are several other less expensive alternatives like this mobile launch golf monitor.

Here’s the video of one of my shots with the Cobra Women’s King Radspeed Driver! My club speed was 84.6 MPH and my total distance was 206.9 yards! I’ll take that any day out on the course.

What is the loft on this Cobra ladies driver?

12 degrees. To be complete honest, I had no idea that different drivers have different lofts. Tommy (my Golf With Luck counterpart) had to explain this to me a few times.

If you don’t know what the loft means, here is a good article on driver loft. You can get the optimal distance for your driver based on your swing speed and a few other factors.

Specs For My Cobra Driver

Depending where you buy your driver, there may be some different options you can choose from.

Cobra Driver Specs

Pro #1: The Length

For reference, I’m only 5’1″ and my old driver was way too long for me! I was choking up on the driver I was using before. As I mentioned, it was from a box set that I got when I first decided to buy clubs. I didn’t get it fitted for my height or anything and just got used to it.

When I first hit my new Cobra driver, it was a bit of an adjustment to not have to choke up but the end result is well worth it. It feels more natural.

Pro #2: The Weighted Heel

This driver is specifically made with weighting in the hell. What the heck does that even mean anyway? The extra weight in the heel of this club will help if you hit it right or slice it.

The heel weight helps turn the club over at impact so that the face of the club is more square. This helps me hit it further (about 210 yards according to my rangefinder).

I have had a few struggles hitting it right in the past which is part of the reason this Cobra driver was a great fit for me.

Pro #3: The Look

I never thought about how important it was to like the way your golf club looks! Golf is a mental game as much as it is a physical sport. If you feel good when you look down at your club to swing it, that’s half the battle. If you have it in your head that you don’t like the club… you probably won’t hit it like you should.

I love the sleek black color of this Cobra driver. I’m not sure why but just looking at it makes me feel like I’m going to hit it far and straight. There are a few light pink accents on the club head that make it a bit more feminine too.

For us ladies out there on the course, we want to feel good but we also want to look good too!

Con #1: The Price

This is really the only con I could come up with right now. It is a bit on the pricier end, especially if you’re a beginner. That being said, since I have been trying to really improve my game lately, this purchase was 100% worth it for me.

Conclusion on this ladies Cobra Driver

100% worth it. I love the look and feel of it. The ball comes off the face of the club so much more smoothly than my old driver. It’s a night and day difference between this Cobra driver and a driver from a stock golf bag set.
